• We were incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)3 in 1981
• In 1983, we moved into the shelter at 2207 Finfeather Road
• In the beginning, we had only 3 board members and we were incorporated as a humane society and animal control facility. We also did animal control for Bryan and Brazos County.
• Around 2004, City of Bryan and Brazos County took over animal control, so animal control was no longer done out of the Brazos Animal Shelter.
• Currently we have a board of 14 members.
• In 2008, the Brazos Animal Shelter purchase the property at 5359 Leonard Road
• July 1, 2011 the Brazos Animal Shelter opened the doors to the new location off Leonard Road
• On August 31, 2011 the City of Bryan ended their contract and the Brazos Animal Shelter permanently moved out of the 2207 Finfeather Road location
