What do I do now?

“Dogs’ lives are too short… Their only fault, really.”
~Agnes Sligh Turnbull

The Loss of a Pet

When an animal companion is lost, a significant inner bond is broken. Preparing for the death of a pet, or working through a loss, whether through death, or being lost or stolen, is a painful but necessary experience.
Grieving for a beloved pet is natural and normal. There is no one right way to grieve—reactions will vary from person to person. The important thing to remember is to allow yourself to grieve.
