  • Everyone who comes in contact with your pet will be aware that this pet has an owner who cares!  Thank you for being a responsible pet owner.  Texas State Law Any dog or cat over three months of age is required to have a yearly rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian.  The animal must wear the tag at all times.  Rabies vaccination/license tag is available through your veterinarian

UNCLAIMED ANIMALS

Unclaimed animals and animals given up by their owners are evaluated for adoption. Prospective pet owners are interviewed to assure that the lifestyles and needs of the people and the animal will be compatible.

The Brazos Animal Shelter receives thousands of dogs, cats, and other pets each year that would make excellent family companions. Many of these are purebred or obvious purebred mixes. Some people say that "mutts" make the best and healthiest pets, and the Shelter also has plenty of those to choose from! Rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, and other pets are also available at the Shelter from time to time.

The adoption fee includes a free spay or neuter that is performed at a local vet clinic BEFORE the pet goes home, the first set of vaccinations, a dewormer, microchip, heartworm test (if needed), and other coupons.
